Chapter 1
Getting Lucky
“Mom I won!” Jayden said, “Won what”? “You know that contest I signed up for” “oh, so what did you win?” “The prize is that our whole family gets a free trip to the Caribbean, oh and we also get to bring one other family with us, they don’t get to go for free but they at least will get a half off discount. So can we go?”
“Well when is it?” “It is this Friday to next Friday, so a whole week.” “That seems fine, I’ll talk to dad about it, but if we do go what other family would you want to come with us?” “Umm, Can Zach and his family come with us?” “I guess if they are fine with it, so I will talk to dad about it.”
That Night…
“Jayden” his mom said, “what” “would you come here for a minute” “yea I’ll be right there.” “So, I talked to dad and he said that would be really fun to go, so I need you and Cade to get packed for seven days, bring your bathing suit, a towel, and goggles.” “Sweet, thanks mom, oh and where is dad?” “He is on his way home from work” “ok, I will tell Cade.”
“Cade?” “What?” Go get packed we are going the Caribbean for a week” “what, how?” “I won a contest” “when?” “This morning, the trip isn’t till Friday but mom just wants us to get the packing over with.” “Ok.” “Hey mom” said Jayden, “what?” “Should I call Zach and ask him if his family wants to come?” “Uh yea if you want them to come” “ok” so he went down stairs and called Zach.
“Hey Zach it is Jayden” “oh hey Jayden what’s up” “nothing much, well anyway I just got a letter in the mail today and won a contest so my family gets a free trip to go to the Caribbean, I also get to choose another family and they get the same exact trip but it is half off, do you guys want to go? It is kind of sudden since it is like five days away till we go but it is worth the shot.” “Umm well I will definitely talk to my mom and dad and hopefully they will be willing to pay all that money, it’s a great deal so I will talk to them.” “Ok perfect, just give me a call back when you can.” “Ok” “bye.”
The next morning Jayden was watching T.V and he heard the phone ring so he got up and answered it, “hello” “hi Jayden it is Zach, so my mom and dad were wondering how much it is.” “Oh let me look on the letter, hmm let me see here he murmured, ah ha found it, the half price is: $750.00 total for the flight from New York to the airport in Puerto Rico.” “Ok, that is sort of what they expected; they said that they could afford a weeklong trip in Puerto Rico for $750.00!” “Awesome, I am so excited, so I will talk to you later then?” “Ok bye.”
Chapter 2
Puerto Rico
Then finally Friday came, the day of the exciting flight to the airport in Puerto Rico to spend an entire week in the Caribbean. Then they got on the plane. “Dude I am so excited” Zach said, “I know, I am so glad you came” “well I will tell you what, I was really lucky that my parents had enough money for the flight cost and the hotel and all that stuff.” “Yea you are lucky, so what do you want to do when we get there?” “Umm well knowing my mom she will want me to go right to the hotel to get all of our stuff situated, but after that I kind of want to go swimming at the beach.” “Yea me too, but I really want to go snorkeling and look at all the cool fish and stuff” “yea that would be really fun, so I’m going to go to sleep to get a good night’s rest. So I will talk to you later” “Ok, I’m going to go to sleep too I’m tired.”
“Cade, wake up we are here” Jayden said, “what? Wait, we are In Puerto Rico?” “Yes, I’m going to go wake up Zach” “Zach wake up were here” “we are, oh cool I can’t wait” “I know.” “Come on Jayden we are going to go to the hotel” “ok, I see you at the hotel ok?” “Ok” so they stepped off the plane and suddenly felt the warm breeze come over their skin, with the wonderful smell of the salty ocean crashing on the rocks near the beach. They got to the hotel and got all of their stuff neatly organized in each drawer next to their beds.
“Hey mom can I go see what Zach is doing” “yea sure just come back soon for dinner” “can I come?” Cade said, “uh, I guess, just please don’t be annoying” “I won’t I promise.” “Ok come on” so they walked over to Zach’s room which was right next to theirs, “hey Zach do you want to go and play around the beach” “yea sure I’ll be right out.” So they walked and played around the beach they were splashing in the water and playing in the sand until they all got tired and decided to go explore in the rainforest. So they walked inside of the forest and started to look around when deeply in the forest they noticed a cave, so they walked over to go check it out.
When they finally got there they stepped in the cave, it felt like something gently came over them like a soft blanket. When they were in the cave it was so quiet until a big crashing noise echoed through the whole cave, and beneath Jayden, Zach, and Cade’s feet became a crashing hole, and before they knew it they were freefalling. They were falling for such a long time they didn’t seem to notice beneath their feet not too far away was an opening, a big opening. The split second before their legs touched the ground they started to levitate and then they dropped. “Dang what the heck was that, how did we survive?” Said Cade,
“I don’t know but that was crazy” replied Jayden, “how are we going to get out of here?” said Zach” “I don’t know but, wait! Look over there” and there Jayden pointed to a big shiny silver door, so they all ran over to the door and pounded on it screaming their lungs hoping someone would open the door and help them. And finally, someone did.
